My Little, Julianna, is 8 years old and we have been matched for two years. We actually just celebrated our Match Anniversary on May 23rd with an outing to a wildlife preserve where we were lucky enough to see several Blue Karner butterflies! Julianna is creative, artistic (look for her in a museum some day), the definition of empathy, and the best kind of goofy. She is also out-brothered like me, so we love our girl time! We love to be outside, especially to go fishing or for leisurely walks, try new things, and find a way to get ice cream whenever and wherever we can. Julianna and her family have truly become like family to me. I am so grateful to Big Brothers Big Sisters for the multiple quality relationships I have gained through it, but especially for Julianna. We challenge each other, inspire each other, and always make each other laugh. Through activities like going to Bard & Baker board game cafe, fishing, getting ice cream, or going to a local park, I know there is so much more happening. That's what mentoring is all about. Thank you to all of my mentors for helping shape me into the person I am today. I hope I can have even a fraction of that impact on Julianna.

Your support makes Big Brothers Big Sisters possible, so thank you. Thank you for making these relationships possible across the Capital Region. They have IMPACT!

ABOUT Ignite Something Big 2021

About Ignite Something Big

Ignite Something Big is all about providing the life-changing impact of mentoring and bringing that opportunity to more kids throughout the Capital Region. We can all think of mentors who have given us the tools to grow into the people we are today. Where would you be without that person? Some communities do not have access to an information network of mentors. That’s where you come in. You can bring caring mentors into children's lives. Mentors help them think about their futures, make healthy choices, and create positive relationships. When you make a donation of any size, it changes lives.
